Effective immediately, operators of tall marine vessels are advised that passage under the Prairie Siding bridge is unavailable. The bridge is unable to be raised due to a recent motor vehicle incident.
No safety issues have been identified at this time. However, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent will be conducting a full inspection of the structure and mechanics to ensure continued safe operation. Small marine vessels which can clear the fixed spans will not be affected.
The bridge remains open for vehicular traffic.
This closure is in effect until further notice.
